Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Design and Technology or a related subject
• QTS or recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level
• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
• GCSE Design and Technology experience
• Strong knowledge of materials and design processes
• Confidence managing practical classroom activities
• Good understanding of workshop safety
• Strong organisation and behaviour management
• Effective planning and assessment skills
• Commitment to developing students' practical abilities

Responsibilities

• Teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE
• Deliver a varied DT curriculum from research and concept development through modelling, manufacture and evaluation
• Assess coursework and practical outcomes, provide feedback and help students improve technical skills and design decisions
• Plan schemes of work and maintain safety standards in workshops
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to enrichment activities
