Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a secondary school in Wolverhampton to recruit a Design and Technology Teacher. The role focuses on delivering engaging KS3/KS4 lessons with potential KS5, combining practical workshops with theory.

The successful candidate will plan and assess high-quality lessons, manage workshop safety, and support diverse learners while contributing to curriculum development and safeguarding. This is a full-time, ASAP-start position in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
• Confidence delivering practical lessons and managing workshop safety.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to encourage creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering high-quality Design and Technology lessons.
• Teaching design principles, material properties and practical manufacturing techniques.
• Organising workshop activities and ensuring equipment is used safely.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Adapting lessons to support students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and high expectations.
• Collaborating with colleagues to develop resources and strengthen curriculum delivery.
