To provide high quality teaching to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and confidence to be successful at Design Technology which is taught at KS3 and KS4.

Specific Responsibilities of the post include:

1. Plan and teach high quality lessons closely following agreed syllabuses and schemes of work, while addressing the personal learning needs of each student and the objectives of the school.
2. Attend parents' evenings and other specific events.
3. Mark students' work regularly and record this to demonstrate students' progress.
4. Ensure every student achieves their potential through effective monitoring of performance and developing intervention strategies if necessary.
5. Communicate effectively and concisely in both verbal and written forms to various audiences.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the requirements of examination boards.
7. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
8. Command respect from students and manage classroom behavior in line with policy.
9. Manage the learning environment and equipment to ensure a positive, conducive learning atmosphere.
10. Maintain high standards of displays within the classroom.
11. Display high motivation and self-esteem in students' work and attitudes.
12. Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met and stay current with relevant requirements.
