The successful candidate will have a strong design technology background, familiarity with CAD/CAM, and the ability to differentiate instruction to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, UK eligibility.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Up-to-date Health and Safety knowledge for design workshops.
• Ability to teach Design Technology across key stages.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver Design Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Teach practical workshop skills and theoretical design concepts.
• Maintain health and safety protocols across workshops and equipment.
• Assess and report on student development, progress and attainment.
• Differentiate teaching to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external exams in Design Technology.
• Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a safe, productive environment.
• Maintain tools and machinery, coordinating with technical staff as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings, events, and professional development.
• Inspire students with a passion for design, engineering and creative problem solving.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness for one).
• Up:to:date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to design workshops and tool usage.
• Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full:time in the UK.
