Job summary

Randstad Education in Doncaster is seeking a qualified Design Technology Teacher to lead engaging lessons across key stages. You will manage workshop environments, deliver practical and theoretical content, and uphold high health and safety standards to support student learning and attainment.

The role requires a strong background in design technology, with ability to differentiate instruction and collaborate within a supportive department.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
• Up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to design workshops and tool usage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons aligned with national curriculum guidelines.
• Teach both practical workshop skills and theoretical design concepts.
• Maintain strict health and safety protocols across all workshops, machinery, and practical learning areas.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of individual students.
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and educational needs.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations in Design Technology.
• Manage classroom behaviour to maintain an ordered, safe, and productive environment.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and materials safely, coordinating with technical support staff where applicable.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school events, parents' evenings, and professional development sessions.
• Act as a positive role model, fostering a passion for design, engineering, and creative problem-solving.
