Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher for a secondary school in the Liverpool area. You will teach and develop the curriculum with a strong emphasis on safety, creativity, and pupil progress.

Location is South Liverpool with a temporary, long-term contract. Full-time hours, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, pay to scale. The role requires QTS and UK classroom experience, with safeguarding training optional but offered.

Qualifications

• QTS required for eligibility to teach in UK schools.
• Experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
• Safeguarding training up-to-date (desirable; training can be provided).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• DBS certificate up-to-date or willingness to apply for a new one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
• Adapt lessons for a wide range of abilities and learning needs.
• Provide clear demonstrations and structured activities.
• Mark work, give constructive feedback, and track pupil progress.
• Ensure all equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Supervise students closely during practical sessions to ensure safe working practices.

Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Ability to provide references that cover at least 24 months worked and where possible 2 roles where you have worked with children
