Our client, a thriving coeducational secondary school in Accrington, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their dynamic team from September 2025. About the Role:
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of specialisms, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Graphics. The successful candidate will foster creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills in pupils, encouraging innovation and excellence in all aspects of their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the Design & Technology curriculum to students in line with national standards and school policies
Inspire and motivate students to develop their practical and theoretical skills
Contribute to the ongoing development of the D&T department’s schemes of work and resources
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress regularly
Create a safe and stimulating learning environment, particularly in workshop settings
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge in one or more D&T disciplines (e.g., Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, or Textiles)
A creative and reflective approach to teaching and learning
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A team player with strong communication and organisational abilities
