Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment Limited is seeking a Design Manager with a main contracting background to lead the design process across projects in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. You will coordinate with internal teams, consultants and subcontractors to ensure fully coordinated, compliant designs delivered to programme.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design packages across the construction lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and coordination with internal teams, consultants and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design process from pre-construction to completion.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Lead design coordination meetings and drive actions to completion.
• Manage design programmes, trackers and deliverables.
• Review drawings, specs and technical information for compliance.
• Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.
• Support procurement with clear design responsibilities and cost implications.
• Contribute to value engineering and buildability reviews.
