Job summary

Derby-based Design Manager / Senior Designer role in the façade and building envelope sector. You will lead the design process across multiple projects, ensuring technical compliance, value-driven solutions and delivery to programme.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience within façade or building envelope design.
• Previous experience as a Senior Designer or Design Manager.
• Strong knowledge of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, windows and façade systems.
• Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and façade design principles.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (Revit experience is advantageous).
• The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the façade design process from pre-construction through project completion.
• Coordinate design teams, specialist subcontractors and external consultants.
• Review and approve technical drawings, calculations and design information.
• Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations, CWCT guidance and relevant industry standards.
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, material approvals and design changes.
• Attend client, design and site coordination meetings.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, commercial teams and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the design process.
• Mentor and support junior designers where appropriate.
