Design Manager — Defence/Tech Project Lead

Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Design Manager to lead design teams in Defence or Technology sectors. You will guide internal and external design resources, coordinate with procurement, planners, environmental, construction and operations teams, and ensure delivery within client scope, budget and timescales.

Role requires integration-focused leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strong written communication. Chartered status and BIM/Autodesk knowledge are advantageous for success in a consultancy

Qualifications

• BA/BSc/BEng or MA/MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Defence and/or Technology sector experience is desirable.
• Chartered or equivalent professional accreditation is recommended.
• Experience in Design Management within a Client/Consultancy environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of BIM-led design and Autodesk products is advantageous.
• Strong integration, stakeholder and communication management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical delivery and integration of multi-disciplinary design projects.
• Provide leadership, direction and delivery excellence through design teams.
• Promote collaboration, challenge, innovation and creativity across the delivery team.
• Understand PM concepts, tools and techniques and apply them to projects.
• Utilise interpersonal and influencing skills to support project outcomes.
• Adapt to changing priorities and manage multi-discipline engineering challenges.
