Job summary

Mitchell Maguire are representing a Design Manager – Architectural Metalwork based in Chatham. The role focuses on producing GA drawings and 3D models from engineers' designs, detailing fabrication and prep drawings, and liaising with clients, contractors and architects to gather information.

You will work closely with production and design engineers to ensure drawings are suitable for on-site buildability, tackling projects from £10k to £10m in value.

Qualifications

• 2D and 3D CAD experience required.
• Fabrication design experience preferred (steelwork, balconies, balustrades).
• Capable of liaising with internal departments and clients.
• IT literate (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

The role of the Design Manager – Architectural Metalwork will involve:

• Design Manager position dealing with a range of steel fabrication and steelwork such as: secondary steelwork, specialist steelwork, staircases, balconies and balustrades
• Producing general arrangement drawings (GA’s) and 3D models from engineer’s designs
• Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and Engineers in order to obtain any required information
• Detailing both fabrication and prep drawings
• Work closely with production team and design engineers to ensure drawings are suitable for on-site buildability and fabrication
• Working on projects varying in value from £10k to £10m

The ideal applicant will be Design Manager – Architectural Metalwork with:

• Must have 2D and 3D CAD experience
• Ideally have fabrication design experience and/or experience dealing with steelwork, metalwork, balconies, architectural metal, staircases, balustrades, handrails etc
• Capable of liaising with internal departments and customers
• IT literate (Microsoft office)
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
