Amentum is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead and deliver structural design work for SZC SSW replication. You will apply engineering judgement, manage complex self-delivery tasks, and coordinate with a broad stakeholder network to ensure quality and timeliness.

The role emphasizes independent decision making, operational planning, and effective communication of technical topics. Hybrid working and flexible arrangements are available to support project needs.

Formación

• An engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience designing structural steelwork buildings to Eurocodes.
• Proven experience in a complex self-delivery environment.
• Ability to make independent decisions with sound analysis.
• Track record in operational delivery and achieving outcomes.
• Confident in presenting to a wide stakeholder group.
• Working knowledge of CDM2015 requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Enact the operational and strategic vision needed for delivery of SZC SSW replication under Team Lead guidance.
• Hands-on self-delivery in producing and issuing deliverables to quality, time and cost requirements.
• Schedule and program deliverables and highlight key risks.
• Identify opportunities or gaps in SZC replication processes for SSW scope.
• Leverage technical knowledge and experience to flag commercial and strategic importance.
• Identify interfaces with other disciplines and the wider project network.
• Present and communicate complex topics to stakeholders.
• Ensure training needs are identified, meet competence requirements, and remain up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Enactment of the operational and strategic vision needed for successful delivery of the SZC SSW replication under the direction of the SZC SSW Team Lead
• A ‘hands‑on’ self‑delivery role in the production and issuing of the various deliverables within their scope to dictated requirements of quality, time and cost
• The accurate scheduling and programming of deliverables, and in highlighting key risks to the same
• Applying their knowledge of the developing SZC replication processes that apply to the SSW scope in the identification of opportunities/gaps that require further development
• Using their existing technical knowledge and operational experience to identify and flag up areas of commercial and strategic importance
• Identifying key interfaces with other disciplines and the wider project stakeholder network, and the nature of such interfaces
• Presenting and communicating complex topics to the wider stakeholder network.
• Ensuring that any training needs are adequately identified and met, that they are competent for the role, and that their personal competency assessment is kept up to date and valid

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• An engineering degree in a relevant subject i.e. Civil or Structural Engineering. Related disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering may be considered subject to proof of relevant design experience
• Experience in the design of structural steelwork buildings to relevant national standards (ideally Eurocodes)
• Proven experience in a complex self‑delivery environment
• The ability to make independent decisions which are supported by a sound and reasonable situational analysis
• Demonstrable experience in both operational planning, and in working to achieve the success of such plans i.e. a track record of success in operational delivery of suitable outcomes
• Confidence when presenting to an experienced and wide‑ranging stakeholder group, and in communicating key topics and their operational impact with respect to the perspectives of these stakeholders
• A working knowledge of the requirements of CDM2015
