Job summary

Barrwall Group Ltd in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process from pre-construction through to delivery on main contracting projects.

The role focuses on coordinating consultants and design teams, reviewing design programmes, and ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant and delivered to programme. This is an office-based role with a competitive £70,000+ salary and package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within main contracting.
• Strong technical/design coordination background.
• Good understanding of the construction process.
• Confident managing consultants and subcontractor design teams.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Industrial experience outside main contracting is welcomed.

Main Contracting

I'm currently working with an established main contractor who are looking to bring an experienced Design Manager into the team.

This is a great opportunity for a Design Manager who wants to join a growing business and play a key role across their projects, working closely with the wider pre-construction, commercial and operational teams.

The role:

• Managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
• Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and design teams
• Reviewing and managing design programmes
• Ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant and delivered to programme
• Working closely with the Project / Construction teams
• Managing design risk and identifying issues early
• Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and consultants

What they're looking for:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within main contracting
