Job summary

Blue Water Recruitment is seeking a Design Manager in Milford Haven to lead the design process from pre-construction through to completion on major construction projects for a main contractor.

You will coordinate architecture, structural and MEP, manage consultant teams, ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with the programme and budget, and drive value engineering opportunities.

Job description

Blue Water Recruitment are currently looking for a Design Manager in Milford Haven for a main contractor.

Experience of delivering major construction projects, ideally in excess of 60m, would be advantageous. As a key member of the Project Leadership Team, you will be responsible for managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring designs are coordinated, buildable, compliant and delivered in line with programme, budget and client expectations.

Essential

• Experience managing the design process on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of design coordination across architectural, structural and MEP disciplines.
• Experience administering design programmes and managing consultant teams.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, planning requirements and statutory approvals.
• Ability to identify and mitigate design risks while driving value engineering opportunities.
• Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Desirable

• Experience working under NEC forms of contract.
• EL1 Security Clearance.
• BPSS.
• Experience working within secure or high-compliance environments.
