We are presently searching for a Design Manager/Technical Coordinator for our London office. The individual, while working under general supervision of a Senior Technical Coordinator and/or Architect or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, design development and construction documents.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Manages client relationship for small and medium sized projects from initiation through completion, including work performed by internal and external resources
- Review CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, building regulations and accessibility requirements
- For smaller projects may oversee all CD production and review
- Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
- Manages project through construction phase
- Manages overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations and final delivery of project. Ensure positive relationships resulting in additional business or referred work
- Coordinates engineer’s and consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
- Carry out or assist in field surveys
- Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Senior Technical Coordinator/Architect/PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget
- May mentor the work of Junior and Immediate Designers
- Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product
- Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an architecture, interior architecture, or interior design programme
- 6+ years’ experience in corporate interior design projects
- Experience working on projects in the UK and/or EU.
- Advanced Revit abilities
- Detailed experience of concept design and familiarity with suppliers
- Advanced experience of construction documentation and coordination with engineers
- Must have a right to work in the UK
- Must be in the office at least 3 days a week

- Advanced interior architecture detailing skills
- Extensive knowledge of the range of design principles and aesthetics
- Extensive documentation and field observational skills
- Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of building systems, regulations and accessibility requirements
- Working knowledge of space planning methodology
- Familiarity with furnishings and finishes
- Intermediate sketching and rendering skills
- Excellent Adobe Creative Suite abilities
