Job Description:

At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you make. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the food you sample. Through our products, partners and people, we can empower everyone to experience the world.

We’re a truly global e-commerce company, with business operations in nearly every country and city on the planet. And we want to make it easy for everyone, anywhere in the world, to pay for their travel or do business with our platform – whenever and however it’s convenient for them.

Our FinTech business unit – with teams in Amsterdam and London – develops new products and drives innovation to help us continue removing financial friction from the travel process. That makes buying and selling travel-related products and services simpler for both travelers and hotel partners.

Booking.com in London is looking for a Junior Proposition Design Manager for our FinTech business unit to help identify, define and design new financial services propositions.

As a key member of the Propositions team you will be supporting the two Senior Proposition Design Managers to develop new financial services propositions across Travellers and Partners. This will involve supporting, and on occasion leading on propositions in development, as well as identifying new customer and market opportunities. You will work with a wide variety of teams to ensure value propositions are desirable to customers, commercially viable, technically feasible and compliant as they are delivered.

In particular you will work closely with:

  • Customer insight teams to conduct exploratory and evaluative research
  • Commercial Strategy team to develop business cases and assess the market opportunity, delivery model and third party partnerships
  • Product teams to ensure effective conceptual design and efficient transition into Delivery
  • Marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies

This is a new team, with a new remit, and as one of the team you will be part of helping to shape New Fintech Products for the business.

Your contribution:

  • Strategy & Vision: Monitor and prepare reports on competitive movement and (adjacent) market developments
  • Strategy & Vision: Help to identify opportunities for new products and opportunities to enhance our customer experience (for Travellers and partners)
  • Definition: Conduct user, product and/or market research to inform proposition exploration and definition processes
  • Definition: Support creation of business cases for new value propositions
  • Definition: Validate and refine value propositions through end-user testing (qualitative and quantitative), in particular conduct co-creation with customers
  • Proposition Design: Support and on occasion lead across the product lifecycle from defining long-term visions for propositions, defining the MVP, running experiments, launching pilots and reaching product market fit
  • Proposition Design: Prepare and help to run key decision point workshops with cross functional teams using proposition design tools and techniques
  • Proposition Design: Help to prepare key stakeholder presentations, communicating complex topics in a simple, structured way
  • Delivery: Work with the Product Manager, Design and Tech teams during detailed design to document the proposition and to transition into delivery
  • Collaboration: Help to collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure propositions developed are desired by customers and are commercially viable, technically feasible and regulatory compliant
  • Project Management: Maintain and drive completion of key reports, reporting on metrics and progress updates

Requirements:

  • Four to six years of relevant experience
  • Experience of designing new financial services propositions, either in/with/for a traditional or non-traditional financial institution
  • Experience using Design Thinking and other Proposition Design methodologies
  • Strategic thinker, able to balance long-term vision with short- and medium-term goals
  • Experience preparing and running workshops
  • Ability to manage own tasks on multiple concurrent projects and manage associated prioritisation
  • Ability to conduct analysis on well defined problems
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable with ambiguity

With this role, you will have

  • Contributing to a high scale, sophisticated, world-class product and seeing real-time impact of your work on millions of travellers worldwide
