Job summary

STRABAG UK are expanding our Build Division and are seeking a talented Design Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects within our Build and Industrial & Logistical sectors.

In this role you will lead design processes, manage multidisciplinary teams and external consultants, ensure timely, budget-conscious design information, and uphold client requirements, regulations and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of design management processes across major building and Industrial & Logistical projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and specialist subcontractors.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, building regulations, and technical standards.
• Strong programme management and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
• Professional membership with a recognised institution.
• Knowledge of BIM processes and digital construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design information is delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and delivery teams to drive design collaboration and manage risks.
• Maintain Design Deliverables Register and Design Progress Tracker to monitor progress and KPI reporting.
• Interface with external or in-house design teams and represent the design department at meetings when required.
• Ensure compliance with Company procedures and professional standards while maintaining high quality.
