Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Engineering Design Manager to lead design input on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects from concept through delivery. The role focuses on buildability, compliance, and efficiency, with collaboration across clients and partners to ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes.

Applicants should bring senior design management experience, strong BIM knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of design and management experience.
Experience of buildings fit-out, defence industry and machine integration preferable.
Around 5 years' experience managing design through full lifecycle across sectors.
Degree/HNC in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering.
Strong knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
Excellent communication skills with clients and staff; self-driven and results-oriented.

Responsibilities

Work with the Project Manager to manage the contract with external design consultants.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers from consultants and partner companies.
Evaluate designs and solutions for buildability and compliance.
Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders.
Liaise with clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, contractors and consultants on issues, scope changes and risks.
