Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an experienced Design & Engineering Manager for its London Regional Civils portfolio. You will lead design and engineering function, providing technical leadership and coordinating multidisciplinary designs across projects from tender through to delivery.

The role emphasizes design assurance, CDM compliance, risk management, and strong stakeholder collaboration with clients, consultants and partners. Hybrid working options are available within the UK.

Competenze

• Significant experience in a design and engineering management role within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong technical understanding of civil engineering design and construction methodologies.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external design consultants.
• Knowledge of design assurance, CDM regulations, technical compliance and risk management.
• Experience supporting projects through work winning, pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Mansioni

• Lead and manage the design and engineering function across the London Regional Civils portfolio.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to design teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
• Oversee the coordination, development and assurance of multidisciplinary designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications and legislation.
• Work closely with project teams, clients, consultants and design partners to develop effective engineering solutions.
• Provide design input and support during work winning, tendering and pre-construction activities.
• Identify opportunities to drive innovation, improve efficiency and introduce best practice across design and engineering activities.
• Ensure design risks are identified, managed and communicated effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
