Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Design Manager for a high-profile Rolls-Royce project in Derby. You will lead the design process, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure timely delivery of integrated solutions across the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record in complex infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and clients to drive design performance and mitigate risk.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within construction or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of design coordination and project delivery processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead collaborative teams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and specialist consultants.
• Ensure designs are compliant, buildable, cost-effective, and delivered on programme.
• Drive design risk management and technical assurance processes.
• Work closely with operational, commercial, and client teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Lead design reviews, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
