Job summary

Niftylift Ltd., based at our Hoyland/Barnsley facility, is seeking a Design Engineer with strong mechanical engineering background and CREO CAD experience. You will lead jig and fixture designs, manage projects through the production gate, and collaborate with MK and external resources to maintain design controls.

Qualifications

• Degree level mechanical engineer
• 3D and 2D CAD experience (CREO preferred)
• Design bias with jigs and fixture development and control
• Fabrication product design experience desirable
• Experience of automated, semi-automated and manual manufacturing processes
• Cutting: Laser, Plasma, Waterjet etc.
• Pressing and cold forming
• CNC Machining (Milling and Lathe)
• EDM and grinding
• Automated welding and fabrication
• Assembly

Responsibilities

• Provide support to development of jig/fixture design systems and procedures
• Lead jig/fixture design and prove-out for new and existing products
• Project manage jig/fixture design to production using the 8 stage gate and validation process
• Provide calibration/maintenance procedures for jigs and fixtures
• Design jigs/fixtures and bespoke equipment cost-effectively
• Create BOMs and machine user manuals
• Develop drawings/models per Niftylift standards
• Lead projects with external services when contracted to Niftylift
• Liaise with MK design engineers to drive improvements in DFM
• Maintain design controls and records for jig/fixture improvements
