Job summary

Crane is seeking a Design Engineer – Electromechanical & Controls in Ipswich to design and develop control valves and related HVAC control systems. You will contribute to NPD and VE projects within a small engineering team, partnering with other functions to improve energy efficiency and smart building strategies.

You will work on multiple projects, create concept designs for actuation and control solutions, and support customers and the Sales team.

Qualifications

BEng/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience in electromechanical design, preferably in HVAC or Building Services.
Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo/Pro Engineer) and 2D/legacy data systems.
Experience with building automation systems such as Niagara Framework desirable.
Knowledge of low-voltage systems (12V/24V) and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

Design and develop control valves and associated controls for HVAC applications.
Work in a small team delivering NPD and VE projects to schedule.
Create and present concept designs for actuation and control solutions.
Act as technical contact for site issues and support customers and Sales.
Engage with customers to gather market insights for new development.
Participate in DFM/DFMEA/PFMEA reviews to ensure robust designs.
Plan and execute test programs with technicians for prototype evaluation.
