Job summary

Modine invites applications for a Controls Engineer within the Controls Department in Product Development. You will develop and test software to automate the mechanical components of Airedale products, and assist with specification and validation of controls hardware and electronics.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering degree (Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, Robotics or CS)
• Experiences with PLC/MCs and IEC61131 languages
• Knowledge of PID control and closed-loop systems
• Excellent communication (written and verbal)
• Understanding of ergonomic displays/web UIs (HMI/SCADA)
• Fundamentals of electronics and electrical systems
• Understanding of serial protocols: Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet TCP/IP
• Autonomy and initiative in projects
• Interest in HVAC/refrigeration systems a plus
• Experience with industrial automation, especially HVAC/BMS would help

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software to automate mechanical components of Airedale products
• Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of products
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for product development and customer projects
• Pursue technical advances focusing on efficiency, reliability and precision
• Manage software improvements and version control; maintain release traceability
• Support manufacturing to assure product quality in factory output
• Assist R&D lab with validation tests and prototype work
• Participate in supplier meetings to identify innovation opportunities
• Create technical literature and ensure correct on-site/configuration processes
