Job summary

Airedale by Modine seeks a proactive Controls Engineer to join the Controls Department in Product Development, reporting to the Senior Lead Controls Engineer.

You will design, test and deploy software solutions that automate electrical and mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, universities and other mission-critical environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable cooling solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, Robotics or CS).
• Experience with PLC or microcontroller technology and IEC61131 programming languages.
• Understanding of PID control systems and closed-loop control.
• Strong communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA and web-based UI design.
• Knowledge of electronics fundamentals and electrical systems.
• Understanding of serial communication protocols: Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
• Enthusiasm for innovative, outside-the-box solutions.
• UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software solutions that automate mechanical components of products.
• Ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance of products.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on product development and customer projects.
• Pursue technical advances to improve efficiency, reliability and precision.
• Manage software releases and traceability; support manufacturing quality.
• Assist R&D test lab with validation and prototype testing.
• Participate in supplier meetings to identify innovation opportunities.
• Create technical literature and processes for correct unit configuration on site and in factory.
