Job summary
AWC STAFF SERVICES LTD are seeking an experienced Design Engineer (Security Systems) to deliver end-to-end electrical and security design solutions across UK Transmission sites. You will manage designs from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring compliance with legislation and client specifications.
Key duties include site surveys, LV/ELV and security designs, AutoCAD/Amtech drawings, design reviews, and mentoring juniors.
Qualifications
- 18th Edition (2382) required.
- Level 4 Design and Verification (2396) preferred.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or higher recommended.
- IEng/CEng or working towards is valued.
- National Grid Substation and EUSR SHEA Gas certs are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed site surveys for Transmission sites.
- Develop concept and detailed design packages for Electrical and Security Systems (LV/ELV).
- Prepare RFI/TQ documentation and manage Design Change Control processes.
- Produce drawings, block diagrams, SLDs, schematics, and schedules in AutoCAD and Amtech.
- Support HAZID/HAZCON/Design Assurance reviews and promote hazard mitigation.
- Collaborate with Design, Construction, and Project Management teams.
