Job summary

SER Limited in Field-Based North East is seeking a Design Engineer to join a specialist team delivering electrical and security designs for Transmission & Gas Transmission sites across the UK.

You will produce LV & ELV electrical and security designs, manage from initial surveys to handover, and collaborate with Design, Construction, and Project Management teams to ensure compliant, high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Engineer in power transmission, utilities, or critical infrastructure.
• Proficient in Amtech or ElectricalOM and AutoCAD.
• Experience designing LV/ELV AC systems, AC UPS, and DC systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys on Electrical Transmission & Gas Transmission sites across the UK.
• Produce detailed electrical and security system designs (LV & ELV) in line with relevant standards.
• Develop concept and detailed design packages for internal and external review.
• Follow designs through to 3rd party approval, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Produce technical documentation including block diagrams, single line diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Manage design change control and identify project risks with contingency plans.
• Attend HAZID/HAZCON and Design Assurance & Review meetings.
• Collaborate with Design, Construction, and Project Management teams; mentor engineers.
• Ensure all management systems and processes are adhered to.
