UK Space Jobs is seeking a hands-on Design Engineer to translate engineering requirements into accurate CAD models, detailed drawings and manufacturable designs for production and delivery. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain on complex vehicle systems and specialist materials, from concept to production.

You'll use Creo/Windchill (SolidWorks acceptable) and manage CAD data to support design reviews, prototyping and design improvements while embracing AI tools

Qualificações

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical engineering experience.
• Proven experience in a mechanical design engineering environment.
• Experience producing 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings.
• Demonstrable experience using a professional CAD package.
• Good understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerances and manufacturability.
• Experience working with assemblies, components and engineering BoMs.
• Practical understanding of fabrication, sheet‑metal bending and/or machining processes.

Responsabilidades

• Produce accurate 3D CAD models, detailed drawings and assembly designs for production delivery.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, taking account of tolerances, materials, fabrication methods and cost.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to resolve design issues and transition to production.
• Manage CAD data, BoMs and drawing packs through PLM systems (Creo/Windchill preferred).
• Contribute to design reviews, prototyping, testing and design improvements.
