What is the role?

We are recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer to join a young enthusiastic technical team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of a reputable developer and to develop your career in a supportive, professional environment.

As a Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of engineering design and technical support for the region. You will be responsible for preparing site civil designs from viability to final consents, and assisting in managing external engineering consultants and service providers to facilitate the delivery of new sites within tight time and financial constraints.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Participate in the site evaluation process and provide timely, economical, and viable solutions to engineering problems to keep projects within budget and support the construction schedule.
2. Assist in managing projects from initial site identification or planning approval, including procurement of engineering packages and consents via in-house design and consultant coordination.
3. Coordinate, review, and issue information to enable on-time site commencement and delivery.
4. Establish and enforce quality standards in designs to maintain the company's good image.
5. Ensure compliance with the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy, promoting safety throughout the team.
6. Manage your workload and external consultants proactively to ensure high-quality service delivery, supporting construction and sales departments.
7. Coordinate production information according to the project schedule to meet company targets for cost-effective development delivery.
8. Spend dedicated time on-site each month working with the site team and contractors to ensure the delivery of approved designs.

What experience do I need?

1. Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
2. Educated to HND/degree level with experience in a UK-based house building environment.
3. Valid CSCS Card (desirable).
4. Full UK driving license.
5. Experience with AutoCAD, Windes/Microdrainage, Site3D design packages.
