Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD in Sheen, Buxton is seeking a Design Engineer to join an established equipment manufacturer. The role focuses on using Solidworks to create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, and to perform practical prototype tasks including welding.

You will produce electrical harness drawings, BOMs and ensure compliance with safety standards while collaborating with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Design Engineering.
• Proficient with Solidworks.
• Hands-on, practical background.
• Located within commuting distance of Sheen, Buxton.
• Able to communicate with suppliers and customers.
• IT literate with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Designing systems and products with Solidworks 3D modelling.

Position: Design Engineer

Location: Sheen, Buxton

Salary: £28,000 - 35,000 - Depending on experience

Design Engineer required for a well-established equipment manufacturer based in Sheen, Staffordshire. The succesful candidate will be joining a well-respected company and will be responsible for utilising Solidworks to create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, whilst carrying out practical prototype manufacturing tasks including welding.

Design Engineer Position Overview

• Designing systems and products with the use of Solidworks 3D modelling software
• Preparing detailed specifications and technical drawings
• Assisting with production and prototyping through utilising workshop machinery and welding equipment.
• Researching suitable solutions and producing cost quotations
• Producing electrical harness drawings using 3D design software
• Creating Bill of Materials
• Ensuring projects meeting legal and safety requirements

Design Engineer Position Requirements

• Either degree qualified within an Engineering related subject or equivelant experience within a Design Engineering role
• Proficient with the use of Solidworks
• Practical / hands-on background
• Based in a commutable distance of Sheen, Buxton
• Able to communicate appropriately with suppliers and customers
• IT literate with the use of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Design Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 - Depending on experience

Permanent position. Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00. Friday 08:00 - 14:30.
