Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. are representing a well-established equipment manufacturer seeking a Design Engineer to join their team in Sheen, near Buxton.

The role focuses on using Solidworks to create 3D models and 2D drawings, and to help prototype manufacturing tasks including welding. The successful candidate will contribute to electrical harness drawings, BOMs, and ensure safety compliance, while liaising with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Solidworks experience and 3D modelling proficiency.
• Practical hands-on background in design/manufacturing or prototyping.
• Able to communicate with suppliers and customers.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Design systems and products using Solidworks 3D modelling.

Position: Design Engineer

Location: Sheen, Buxton

Salary: £28,000 - 35,000 - Depending on experience

Design Engineer required for a well-established equipment manufacturer based in Sheen, Staffordshire.

The succesful candidate will be joining a well-respected company and will be responsible for utilising Solidworks to create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, whilst carrying out practical prototype manufacturing tasks including welding.

Design Engineer Position Overview

• Designing systems and products with the use of Solidworks 3D modelling software
• Preparing detailed specifications and technical drawings
• Assisting with production and prototyping through utilising workshop machinery and welding equipment.
• Researching suitable solutions and producing cost quotations
• Producing electrical harness drawings using 3D design software
• Creating Bill of Materials
• Ensuring projects meeting legal and safety requirements

Design Engineer Position Requirements

• Either degree qualified within an Engineering related subject or equivelant experience within a Design Engineering role
• Proficient with the use of Solidworks
• Practical / hands-on background
• Based in a commutable distance of Sheen, Buxton
• Able to communicate appropriately with suppliers and customers
• IT literate with the use of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Design Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 - Depending on experience

Permanent position. Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00. Friday 08:00 - 14:30.
