Job summary

Brooklyn Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer in the Derbyshire area (Chesterfield / Clay Cross) to design vehicle conversions using SolidWorks, delivering from concept to completion in an office-based role. You will create designs for customer sign-off, produce BOMs, check feasibility, and work with production to develop prototypes and bespoke vehicles.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks and knowledge of aluminium and stainless steel, within an automotive/fabrication

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Experience in Automotive / Fabrication / Vehicle Conversion settings.
• Ability to produce and maintain BOMs.
• Knowledge of aluminium and stainless steel materials.

Design Engineer - Solidworks - Vehicle Conversion - Chesterfield - Derbyshire

Brooklyn Recruitment currently have an exciting role available in the Clay Cross area of Derbyshire for a Design Engineer within an engineering company who are currently going from strength to strength. This company works in a niche area within the automotive sector (vehicle conversions). This position is office based.

As Design Engineer you will be responsible for both bespoke and standardised product offerings from conception through to completion. Your day to day duties will involve:

• Creating designs for customer sign off
• Producing BOM's
• Checking specifications for feasibility
• Developing and maintaining build manuals for the core product range
• Developing prototype and bespoke vehicles with production staff
• Recording any design changes
• Using Solidworks to create 3D models
• Other duties as required

This Design Engineer's position has excellent working hours:

Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm

Friday 8.30am - 3pm!

To be suitable for this position of Design Engineer you should be proficient in the use of AutoCAD (ACAD / Auto CAD) and Solidworks 3D and 2D. You should also have experience in a similar role ideally within an Automotive / Fabrication / Vehicle Conversion setting and have a good working knowledge of Aluminium and Stainless Steel.
