Job summary

GPS Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer for a client in the Pontefract area to join a well-established engineering team. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of design experience, with Solidworks or a similar CAD package, and will contribute to designing equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures from concept through production.

You will produce engineering drawings and support NPD, liaising with teams, and performing design calculations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of design experience required.
• Experience with Solidworks or similar CAD is preferred.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering drawings using CAD software (Solidworks).
• Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with internal/external teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Conduct design calculations and analysis to validate performance and safety requirements.
• Manage design changes and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
• Support prototype builds and testing activities.
• Travel to sites for measurements as required.

Our client based in the Pontefract area are looking for a Design Engineer to joint their well-established engineering team. The successful candidate will have gained 3 to 5 years design experience, ideally working on Solidworks or a similar package.

The Role

As Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of a range of equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures etc. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative and cost-effective design solutions from concept through to production.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing Engineering drawings using CAD software (Solidworks).
• Supporting new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Liaising with internal and external teams to ensure design feasibility
• Conducting design calculations and analysis to validate performance and safety requirements
• Managing design changes and maintaining accurate engineering documentation
• Supporting prototype builds and testing activities
• Site work (e.g. measuring jobs)

Working hours:

• Day shift Monday to Friday 39 hour per week.
• Mon to Thurs 7.30am-4.00pm. Friday 7.30am-3.00pm.
• Some flexibility with start times can be accommodated
