Job summary

Galliford Try Group is seeking a Design Manager to lead a high-performing engineering design team. You will own output and delivery on complex multidisciplinary schemes, reporting on programme and budgets, and mentoring Design Leads to ensure technical excellence and SHE compliance.

You will manage design appointments, coordinate with clients and partners, and drive value while upholding Galliford Try’s standards and values across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and development of people.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Extensive knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering design.
• Extensive knowledge of the water industry.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead provision of engineering design solutions from inception to completion on large multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure designs adhere to client specifications, standards, and operational requirements.
• Mentor and support Design Leads to ensure technical excellence, risk management and SHE compliance.
• Maintain line management responsibility for Design Leads and other team members.
• Manage budgets and programmes for design activities and track progress.
• Coordinate with design partners, construction personnel and clients.
