Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Design Manager to lead the Engineering Design Team on large and complex projects. You will own design outputs, report on programme and budget, and mentor Design Leads to ensure technical excellence and SHE compliance.

You will work closely with Design Delivery Managers, Discipline Managers, and construction personnel while upholding Galliford Try’s values and standards. A strategic role with significant stakeholder engagement and career development opportunities awaits.

Qualifications

• AsDesign Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary engineering design teams.
• You will mentor Design Leads to ensure successful delivery and technical excellence.
• You will manage budgets and programmes for design activities.
• You will ensure compliance with SHE, safety, and environmental policies.
• You will manage client specifications and project standards.
• You will apply Galliford Try's values towards customers and delivery.
• You will coordinate with design partners, delivery managers, and construction personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design solutions from inception to completion on large, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Ensure designs adhere to client specifications, standards, and operational needs.
• Mentor and support Design Leads to deliver engineering outputs with excellence.
• Report on programme and budget, and ensure financial control of design activities.
• Scope project requirements via document reviews, site visits, client and supplier discussions.
• Ensure compliance with GT BMS, SHE policies and contractual requirements.
