Bell Building Projects is seeking a Design Coordinator to join our Bristol office. You will support the Design Manager in coordinating and delivering design information across the project, gaining hands-on experience on a live construction project.

The ideal candidate has an architectural background, ideally Part 2 qualified, with strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to design management.

Qualifications

• Architectural or construction background; ideally Part 2.
• Strong understanding of construction detailing and technical information.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Experience with document management systems; Procore preferred.
• Excellent organisation with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication with consultants and project teams.
• Knowledge of English Building Regulations.
• Interested in long-term career in design management.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate design information across the project with the Design Manager.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information to identify clashes and missing information.
• Coordinate design information between consultants, subcontractors and the broader project team.
• Assist with management and tracking of design deliverables and ensure info is issued in line with the project programme.
• Support the RFI process, ensuring queries are raised, tracked and closed out.
• Attend design, progress and technical meetings, recording and following up on actions.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor design information and specialist packages.
• Maintain accurate design records and manage project information in Procore.
• Support the Design Manager in identifying and managing design risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with site and project teams to resolve design queries and ensure latest information is available.
• Assist with Building Control and planning matters where required.
• Carry out site visits to review design implementation and resolve technical issues.

The Role

We are seeking a Design Coordinator to join our team at our office in Bristol. Working alongside the Design Manager, you will support the coordination and delivery of design information throughout the project.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with an architectural background, ideally Part 2 qualified, who is looking to develop their career within design management and gain hands‑on experience on a live construction project.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Design Manager to coordinate design information across the project.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information to identify discrepancies, clashes and missing information.
• Coordinate design information between consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Assist with the management and tracking of design deliverables and ensure information is issued in line with the project programme.
• Support the RFI process, ensuring queries are raised, tracked and closed out in a timely manner.
• Attend design, progress and technical meetings, recording and following up on actions where required.
• Assist with the review of subcontractor design information and specialist packages.
• Maintain accurate design records and ensure project information is correctly managed through Procore.
• Support the Design Manager in identifying and managing design risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with the site and project teams to resolve design queries and ensure the latest information is available.
• Assist with statutory approvals, including Building Control and planning matters where required.
• Carry out site visits and inspections to review design implementation and support the resolution of technical issues.

Who We’re Looking For

• An architectural or construction-related background, ideally with a Part 2 architectural qualification.
• A good understanding of construction detailing, drawings and technical information.
• Strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills.
• Experience with document management systems; knowledge of Procore would be beneficial.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of English Building Regulations.
• An interest in developing a long‑term career in construction design management.
