Job summary

BDP in London seeks a qualified ARB Architect with 5+ years post-qualification experience to lead the design and delivery of complex projects across sectors, through all RIBA stages, with strong design-led and coordination skills.

You will mentor teams, coordinate multidisciplinary design, and uphold Building Regulations, with Revit and BIM delivery; BDP offers a hybrid policy (three days in the office, two at home) and a broad benefits package.

Job description

We are seeking accomplished Senior Architects to join our London studio, with experience in designing and delivering complex and high-profile projects across a range of sectors.

This role is suited to architects with strong design, technical and delivery expertise who are confident leading projects through all stages and who bring a rigorous, integrated approach to design, coordination, compliance and construction. We are looking for individuals with broad capability and adaptability rather than those defined by a single sector specialism.

Depending on project requirements and individual experience, the role may include conceptual design work, delivering high profile projects during detail design phases / construction or supporting or undertaking Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) and/or CDM Principal Designer (CDM PD) responsibilities. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of statutory compliance, design risk management and multidisciplinary coordination within contemporary project delivery.

You will lead the design and delivery of technically robust, well-coordinated architectural solutions from inception through to completion. You will take ownership of project design, delivery, guide and mentor team members, and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality outcomes on complex projects.

About you

You are a qualified ARB Architect with 5+ years of post-qualification experience designing and delivering complex, high-value projects through all RIBA stages across a range of sectors. You are design-led, technically strong, detail-oriented and comfortable leading multidisciplinary coordination on demanding and high-profile projects.

You will have:

• Accomplished technical and delivery expertise across complex architectural projects
• Experience supporting or undertaking BRPD and/or CDM PD responsibilities within project teams is preferred, but not essential
• Proven experience delivering projects from inception through to completion
• Strong design, technical, detailing and project delivery capability
• Experience contributing to compliance, coordination and safety-in-design processes
• Experience working within BIM delivery environments, with Revit essential
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills across clients, consultants, contractors and wider project teams
• Excellent communication skills verbally, graphically and in writing
• The ability to mentor and support team members while maintaining high technical standards
• Confidence working autonomously, managing priorities and contributing to informed project decision-making

Please note that the successful candidate will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Pre-Employment check (BPSS) and will be required to undergo various checks including: Identity, Right to Work; 3 years continuous UK Employment/Education History and Criminal Record.
