Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Leeds area from September through December, with potential extension. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute to the department’s planning and development.

The role requires QTS or equivalent, strong DT knowledge, and a commitment to safeguarding. DBS Update Service preferred, two school references, and experience in UK secondary schools.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school.
• Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; enhanced DBS on Update Service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive Design & Technology lessons.
• Teach DT across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
• Create a safe and stimulating workshop/classroom environment.
• Support students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential.
• Follow school policies regarding safeguarding, behaviour management, and attendance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning and development.
• Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
