Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Physician Associate to join the Dermatology team at Bristol Royal Infirmary. We have one permanent position and one fixed-term maternity cover available.

You will work alongside Consultant Dermatologists, specialist nurses and other clinicians to assess patients, aid diagnosis and treatment planning, support specialist clinics and contribute to service improvement, education and audit activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BSc/BA undergraduate degree prior to PA training.
• MSc/PgDip in Physician Associate Studies from a recognised PA programme.
• Current and valid certification or re-certification by the Physician Associate National Exam; GMC registration.

Responsibilities

• Clinically assess and examine a broad caseload of patients with high clinical skill.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging, escalate to senior staff as needed.
• Provide cancer and routine clinics, and maintain weekly diagnostic biopsy list.
• Triages and assesses patients referred to the on-call service.
• Develop specialist knowledge and perform extended clinical skills under supervision.
• Document all aspects of patient care and maintain required paperwork.
