Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading is seeking a fixed-term Locum Consultant Dermatologist (7 PA) to join our expanding dermatology service across Trust sites. The post supports service delivery, service development, and education within a friendly team.

The successful applicant will contribute to specialist patient care, teaching, and leadership to help the department achieve its goals in dermatology.

Qualifications

• Locum Consultant Dermatologist with eligibility for consultant practice in the UK.
• Experience in delivering dermatology services within a NHS setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the current delivery of the dermatology service across Trust sites.
• Contribute to development and expansion of dermatology services in the catchment area.
• Engage in teaching and education to colleagues and trainees.
• Provide leadership within the department to achieve service goals.

Job description

This is a fixed term 7PA post for a Locum Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

This is in response to the needs of the department in the last few years and the increasing demand on our services in the local area. Our service covers a large area encompassing both East and West Berkshire and parts of Oxfordshire and Hampshire. We are lucky to work in very beautiful area of the country including Henley and West Berkshire.

We pride ourselves on being a very friendly department and look forward to expanding our department, services and physician workforce and it is now time to expand our consultant numbers.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will support the current delivery of the Dermatology service, including contribution to the development of these services at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and all associated Trust sites. Subspecialty interests of successful candidates can also be accommodated upon future discussion.

The appointee will join the existing team to provide specialist care to this growing population of patients, and raise departmental profiles through teaching and education.

The aim of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Dermatology service is to become a leader in the field of dermatological management and the successful applicant must therefore have the pre-requisite procedural and leadership skills as well as team work, drive and ambition to succeed in achieving these goals.
