Job summary

18 Week Support is seeking experienced Dermatology Outpatient Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support weekend insourcing clinics, helping deliver NHS waiting list initiatives across dermatology services. You will assist clinicians, prepare clinics, and ensure smooth patient flow in a busy outpatient setting.

The role requires hands-on dermatology outpatient experience, working at least 6 months in the past year, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting dermatology outpatient clinics in an NHS setting.
• Active involvement in dermatology outpatient work within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support outpatient clinics.
• Chaperone patients during consultations and examinations.
• Record patient observations as required.
• Assist clinicians during patient consultations.
• Support patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Provide patients with information and guidance from the clinical team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
• Ensure clinics run safely and efficiently in line with local policies.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, dignity and confidentiality.
