Job summary

18 Week Support is looking for an experienced Dermatology Outpatient Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support weekend insourcing clinics across dermatology services. You will assist clinicians, prepare clinics, and help reduce NHS waiting times in a busy outpatient setting.

You should have hands-on dermatology outpatient experience, be able to work in a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Recent hands-on experience supporting dermatology outpatient clinics (within the past 12 months).
• Active involvement in this work for at least 6 months within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and supporting outpatient clinics.
• Chaperoning patients during consultations and examinations.
• Recording patient observations where required.
• Assisting clinicians during patient consultations.
• Supporting patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Providing patients with information and guidance as directed by the clinical team.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records.
• Ensuring clinics run safely, efficiently and in line with local policies and procedures.
• Maintaining high standards of patient care, dignity and confidentiality.
