Job summary

WPS is seeking a proactive Planned Works Supervisor to take ownership of a Derbyshire patch, overseeing planned investment and refurbishment across our housing stock. You will lead a team, manage contractors and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Applicants should have a strong trade background, SSSTS, and experience supervising capital projects in social housing. The role offers growth, a supportive team, and a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• SSSTS certification is essential.
• Strong multi-trade background (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, roofing or general building).
• Proven experience supervising planned works and refurbishment projects.
• Solid understanding of planned maintenance programmes and customer-focused service.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and workloads.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for a designated geographical patch, delivering planned works safely, on schedule, within budget and to high quality standards.
• Supervise delivery of planned investment programmes (kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows/doors, external works, refurbishments).
• Manage operatives and subcontractors across multiple workstreams, ensuring productivity and quality workmanship.
• Carry out site inspections and surveys to scope works and monitor progress.
• Conduct quality inspections and sign-offs to ensure compliance with standards and client expectations.
• Monitor and enforce health and safety across sites for colleagues, contractors and residents.
• Manage project performance, budgets, KPIs and programme delivery targets.
• Handle customer queries, complaints and escalations professionally.
• Collaborate with residents, housing teams, planners and contractors to ensure smooth delivery with minimal disruption.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support initiatives to enhance service delivery.
