Job Advert Location Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Manager on one of our acute wards.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

1. Provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager.
2. Have a degree of clinical experience and leadership that provides expertise and confidence to the nursing team and ward overall.
3. Have defined delegated responsibilities from the ward manager, protected time for deputy ward manager duties, and supervisory responsibilities for an agreed group of staff.

Requirements for Success as Deputy Ward Manager

• First level Registered Nurse (RMN)
• Clinical supervision experience is essential; training is desirable
• Evidence of CPD and a commitment to maintaining and developing CPD and leadership skills
• Experience in Acute Mental Health
• At least 3 years or equivalent post-registration experience
• Mentorship experience is desirable; training can be provided
