Deputy Ward Manager (6143) City of Preston, England

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in Preston, Lancashire. You will be working for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.

This is an independent mental health hospital specializing in the management and treatment of acute mental ill health and eating disorders.

To be considered for this position, you must be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current active NMC Pin.

As the Deputy Ward Manager, your key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating, promoting, and supervising education, clinical practices, and audits.
• Managing the clinical area in the absence of the ward manager.
• Overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters, with a working knowledge of relevant policies and legislation.
• Identifying and contributing to training needs of staff.
• Promoting equality, diversity, and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation.
• Ensuring effective communication pathways.
• Acting as operational lead alongside the Ward Manager regarding inpatient care.
• Supporting the group programme for Service Users.

The following skills and experience are preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and a commitment to leadership development.
• Experience in Acute Mental Health settings.
• At least 18 months or equivalent post-registration experience.
• Mentorship experience is desirable; training can be provided.

The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive a salary of £43,014 - £46,314 per annum. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. In return, you will enjoy the following benefits:
