Job summary

Priory is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager at Priory Hospital Dewsbury to lead the Jubilee Ward on a full-time basis. You will work with the Ward Manager and multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality clinical care, support staff development, and shape service delivery within a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role requires RMN registration, leadership experience, and a strong CPD mindset. This is a substantive post with excellent career development opportunities within Priory’s clinical

Qualifications

• Active Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (RMN) and revalidation requirements.
• Trained assessor or supervisor with leadership potential.
• Clinical supervision experience is essential; training is desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to CPD and ongoing professional development and leadership.
• Good computer skills (email, care records, basic IT).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day ward operations with Ward Manager and MDT.
• Drive high standards of clinical care and patient experience.
• Support development of a motivated and skilled nursing team.
• Contribute to service delivery improvements and staff development.
• Adhere to Priory policies and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

Active Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, meeting the requirements of Revalidation (RMN qualified)
This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.
Priory Hospital Dewsbury is looking to recruit a Deputy Ward Manager to join the team on the Jubilee Ward. This is a full time position of 40 hours per week.

As Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the effective leadership and day-to-day management of the ward. Working alongside the Ward Manager and multidisciplinary team, you will help drive high standards of clinical care, promote a positive patient experience, and support the development of a motivated and skilled workforce.
