An excellent opportunity has arisen for a nurse to join our team providing ongoing assessment and treatment for people with Learning Disabilities.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, and imaginative qualified nurse to become an integral part of our multidisciplinary team. You should have an interest in working with people with a learning disability, experience working with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors, are autistic, or have existing mental health issues. Experience in an inpatient environment and managing challenging situations is desirable.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care needs of a specific group of service users.
  • Supervise, mentor, and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
  • Coordinate care for a specified group of service users.
  • Take a proactive role in risk management, including risk assessments, incident reporting, and near-misses.
  • Act as a supervisor, mentor, or assessor for students or Healthcare Support Workers, with relevant experience.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
  • First Level Nurse
  • NMC Registration
  • Qualified RNLD or RMN with Learning Disabilities experience
  • Degree qualification or working towards it within an agreed timeframe
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Post-graduate Diploma or equivalent, with ongoing development
Experience
  • Significant experience in a relevant nursing role or specialty
  • Application of improvement methodologies
Skills and Attributes
  • Effective communication of complex information
  • Problem diagnosis and corrective action
  • Assessment analysis and care planning
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team

Welsh language skills are desirable at levels 1-5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing.
