Job summary

Gloucester Services in Gloucester is seeking a hands-on Facilities Supervisor to manage the Support Services teams, ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment across both sites. The role requires flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.

You will conduct safety audits, maintain compliance records, and coordinate with external contractors and internal customers to uphold high standards of building maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of property-related health and safety issues, preferably within a management system.
• Experience of managing fire safety within the property environment.
• Experience of project management of small to medium projects.
• Proficient in practical building maintenance.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Support Services teams to maintain a safe, compliant and efficient environment across sites.
• Deliver daily, weekly and monthly cleanliness schedules with consistent results.
• Carry out audits to ensure safety of buildings and structures in collaboration with the Safety team, ensuring 100% compliance.
• Be available for a hands-on, on-site role and support a 24/7 operation, including an out-of-hours/on-call rota.
• Build excellent relationships with external suppliers and internal customers; coordinate with contractors.

Job description

Manage the Support Services teams in your area, maintaining a well-kept, safe, secure, compliant and efficient environment, with support from the rest of your team.

Be responsible for the completion of daily, weekly and monthly cleanliness schedules, delivering excellent, consistent results across both sites, internally and externally, 24 hours a day.

Ensure the safety of buildings and structures carrying out audits, working closely with the Safety team to maintain 100% compliance.

This is a hands-on, on-site role that requires flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, including participation in an out-of-hours/on-call rota for emergencies.

• Good knowledge of property-related health and safety issues, preferably within a management system.
• Experience of managing fire safety within the property environment.
• Experience of project management of small to medium projects.
• Proficient in practical building maintenance.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills — you will be in direct contact with the wider team and external contractors.
• Highly organised with a logical approach; strong planning skills and good attention to detail, as you will be the collator and custodian of the department's statutory and mandatory compliance records.
• Able to build excellent working relationships with external suppliers and internal customers.
• Calm under pressure, and able to prioritise your response to situations based on urgency.
