Job summary

MostonRECRUIT is seeking an experienced Maintenance Service Manager to lead planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse property portfolio in the UK. You will ensure safety, compliance and performance, coordinating engineers, subcontractors and supply chain partners, and driving continuous improvement.

You’ll manage RAMS, CAFM records, and provide strong client liaison, cost controls and forward planning to deliver high service standards and commercial success on multi-site contracts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing planned and reactive maintenance within FM/building services or property maintenance.
• Experience overseeing small works or minor projects is highly desirable.
• HNC in Building, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Management-level Health & Safety qualification such as SMSTS.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance and maintenance best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
• Manage day-to-day operational performance, coordinating engineers, subcontractors and supply chain partners to meet SLAs.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with legislation, regulations and health, safety and environmental standards.
• Review RAMS and promote safe systems of work across all maintenance activities.
• Monitor and manage works through the CAFM system, maintaining records and compliance information.
• Build relationships with clients, site teams and stakeholders, resolving service issues effectively.
• Identify opportunities for additional works and assist with quotations and cost estimates for small projects.
• Lead, coach and develop operational teams, driving safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Support forward maintenance planning, cost control and contract performance for efficient delivery.

Our client, a leading facilities management provider, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Service Manager to lead the safe, compliant and effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services across a diverse property portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operational leader to oversee maintenance delivery, ensuring statutory compliance, high service standards and strong commercial performance across a multi-site contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
• Manage day-to-day operational performance, coordinating engineers, subcontractors and supply chain partners to meet service level agreements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant legislation, industry regulations and health, safety and environmental standards.
• Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), promoting safe systems of work across all maintenance activities.
• Monitor and manage works through the CAFM system, ensuring records, documentation and compliance information are accurately maintained.
• Build strong relationships with clients, site teams and key stakeholders, acting as the main operational point of contact and resolving service issues effectively.
• Identify opportunities for additional works and support the preparation of quotations and cost estimates for small projects and remedial works.
• Lead, coach and develop operational teams, driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Support forward maintenance planning, cost control and contract performance to ensure efficient and commercially successful service delivery.

About You

• Proven experience managing planned and reactive maintenance within a facilities management, building services or property maintenance environment.
• Experience overseeing small works or minor projects is highly desirable.
• HNC (or equivalent experience) in Building, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Management-level Health & Safety qualification such as SMSTS.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance and maintenance best practice.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office and CAFM systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead teams and build strong client relationships.
• Willingness to undertake additional Authorised Person responsibilities (such as Legionella, Asbestos, Confined Space or Working at Height), with training provided where required.
