Job summary

Pets at Home Belfast is seeking a proactive Deputy Manager to join our Belfast Pet Care Centre leadership team. You will work with the Store Manager to drive performance, coach your team, and deliver an exceptional experience for customers and their pets.

You will oversee operations, stock control, merchandising, and compliance while nurturing a welcoming, inclusive culture. A 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays is required, and you will set the standard for service and pet care.

Qualifications

• Experience running a team in a busy retail, hospitality or customer-focused environment as a manager/supervisor.
• Worked with KPIs and driven team performance.
• Passion for people, coaching, developing and motivating others.
• Love for delivering great results and operational excellence.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, remaining calm under pressure.
• Flexibility to work a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

What’s the role?

We're looking for a passionate and proactive Deputy Manager to join the leadership team at our Belfast Pet Care Centre. This role is about more than just supporting day-to-day operations it’s about leading by example, inspiring your team, and delivering an exceptional experience for both pets and their people.

As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely with the Store Manager and take shared responsibility for the pet care centre's performance, team development, and customer engagement. You'll step up to lead when the Store Manager is away and play a key part in shaping a welcoming, knowledgeable, and pet-loving environment. No two days will be the same and that's just how we like it!

• Have experience of running a team in a busy retail, hospitality or customer-focused environment as a manager / supervisor

• Strong communication and organisational skills, you keep calm, even on the busiest days.
