Job summary

NPR Recruit is representing a global engineering automation business to hire a Deputy Shift Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on supporting the shift manager, leading a maintenance team (electrical and mechanical), and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership and strong communication skills, with an ability to work with electrical, mechanical, and electronic fault diagnosis.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical qualification required.
• Experience leading a team is desirable.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Support shift manager in leading the shift team.
• Demonstrate leadership and communication skills.
• Lead and support a maintenance team (electrical/mechanical).
• Support scheduled repairs per manufacturer recommendations.
• Assist in diagnosing mechanical/electrical faults.
• Accurately record all work undertaken.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to quality processes and procedures.

Role & Responsibilities: Deputy Shift Maintenance Manager

• To support the shift manager in leading the shift team
• Demonstrate leadership and communication skills
• To lead and support a maintenance team (electrical/mechanical)
• To support, as required, scheduled repairs according to the manufacturer's recommendations
• To support the diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic faults
• To accurately record all work undertaken
• Continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities
• Adherence to the Quality processes and procedures
• Demonstrate strong communication skills

Qualifications: Deputy Shift Maintenance Manager

• ONC OR HNC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, or BTEC Engineering, or Engineering Apprenticeship or Bsc or Msc
• Experience in previously managing a team is desirable
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic knowledge of PLC equipment In/out
